This post goes out to my friends.
My friends have saved my life lately. I didn’t know what true friendship was until I had to leave all my very best friends. Imagine my surprise when I realized that this separation didn’t make our friendship weaker. In fact, if anything, it’s become stronger.
And that has been saving my life.
So here’s to the friends that always take my calls. Not because they don’t have anything more important going on, but because they make my calls more important than anything going on.
Here’s to the friends that listen. They let me rant, sigh or sob about everything. And somehow they still love me, even when I’m so wrapped up in my own problems that I forget to listen to theirs.
And here’s to my missionary friends whose letters make me cry and laugh and laugh and cry. They always know the perfect thing to write even though they’re scattered across the world (possibilities: they’re magic, they have crystal balls that tell them what to say, or they have the Spirit… must investigate).
Here’s to friends that put me first when I come to visit. They make me remember what it’s like to laugh so hard your stomach hurts. And that’s important.
And I hope everyone knows that this list extends to family too. My daddy is so honest with me and helps me see how I can improve. My cousins always make me smile. And my wonderful aunt is filling holes in my heart I didn’t even know I had.
The list goes on and on. I wish I had time to write it all out. But for now, I’ll just have to sum up and say a simple but heartfelt…
Thank you.
;)
