Have any of you been walking in downtown Provo recently?
There's a lot of construction and change going on. I love the mix of old and new, especially when old and new are right across the street from each other. It seems like the buildings just sort of stare at each other in surprise.
And even though it's nowhere close to the big apple or anything, it's still fun to walk up and down Center and look at what's changing, and what's not. All in all, it makes for a delightful evening (all that was missing was a Sammy's shake from around the corner.)

So now here's my question - you know all those tiny restaurants in downtown Provo? You know, the ones you walk past and think "this could either be the best-kept secret this side of the Mississippi, or it could be the best place to get salmonella this side of the Mississippi." What are your tried and tested favorites? And which cute little hole-in-the-walls aren't worth it?
Station 22, I hear, is amazing. Also Jeremy and my apartment is like a block away from all this... So I just hope the construction is wrapped up and everything is beautiful by the time we get back haha.
ReplyDeleteYou are two cute!

i absolutely LOVE downtown provo! it's my dream to live in a little apartment above one of the old shops. unfortunately i'm always too scared to try the little hole in the wall restaurants. i don't like dying of food poisoning. haha

There are some fantastic restaurants in Provo. A few years ago we made a list and tried to go to as many as possible. Here are the ones we went to and liked in Provo: Communal (favorite for sure...and unfortunately super pricey), Gloria's Little Italy (pretty good, for Provo), Gurus, Pho King (used to be Rice King, relatively cheap and super tasty), Shirley's bakery (definitely a must for everyone in all of Utah, their Orange Rolls are to.die.for.), Provo Bakery (Jordan's personal favorite), Spark, Stan's (he invented Fry Sauce), Tommy Burger (would only recommend because you live in Provo, I don't actually like the food...), J Dawgs (of course), Brick Oven (another of course...)
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't been to these, you definitely should.
hi brooke, just wondering if you received my email. i sent a few of them, each with different content but i hasn't gotten replies yet. just a little worried here. :)

Bahaha, so adorable. I always am thinking "best place to catch something" when I see hole in the wall places, maybe I should have a little bit more faith ;)

ReplyDeleteI love downtown Provo. It's the perfect size of "old town." I've never tried any of the eateries out there though, besides Los Hermanos and sensuous sandwich, of course :)
ReplyDeleteyou are too cute! looooove your outfit! be sure to try out los hermanos, oh so good! we usually get the nachos, they're big enough for us to split...and have leftovers for the next 2 days. :)
ReplyDeleteBrooke check out byubites.com, it is a blog that reviews every restaurant (ok it only took me 12 times to spell that word correctly...) within 5 miles of BYU. Also lunch this week?? I'll call you maybe.
ReplyDeleteJoe Veras has the best Mexican food!!!

Just found your blog and I absolutely ADORE it!! I can't wait to link up to your instaLIFE! Also, I'm from Utah as well! I lived in Ephraim {tiny town about an hour south of Provo} and I loved it. The only restaurant I've eaten at on center street in Provo is Ottavio's {I think that's what it's called} and I really liked it! My favorite part was how authentically Italian it felt with the little man in the corner playing the accordion :) P.S. I LOVE your outfit!
ReplyDeleteThere's a little restaurant on Center Street called El Salvador. kinda hole in the wall but they have the best pupusas! and it's pretty cheap too!
ReplyDeletei've never been to utah but i had friends that used to live in provo - i've heard it's such a beautiful city!
ReplyDeleteThere's an Italian restaurant I went to a few weeks ago in Provo...I just don't remember the name. It's right on University, I think. Anyway, it's really good. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE your red pants! I'm looking for some. They just look so good with a denim shirt. Good pairing. You are so pretty!
