Silver Lining: Things I learned from the first year of marriage

Things I learned from the first year of marriage

Boys are easier to live with than girls.

You do actually have to vocalize your feelings. Boys can't magically pick up on them all the time.

Find someone who does the dishes every single day.

Early morning snuggles are the best way to start each morning. No exceptions.

Laundry skills go way down when you get married.
(I now detest folding clean laundry. Piles sit in our bedroom for days.)

Kiss. Often.

Never let the d-word enter into your vocabulary. Don't even joke about separating or anything. Just don't say the word.

Go to the Melting Pot for your first anniversary.
Talk about the year behind and the year ahead over fondue for hours.

  3. Congratulations on your one year anniversary! This advice is wonderful--I just barely did a post about marital advice yesterday. My favorite part is the fondue (: I think we'll definitely be doing that in the future.

  15. I agree with this in it's entirety. However, I've never been to the Melting Pot. There is one right down the road though. Maybe we'll give it a try for our 4th anniversary this year. Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier :D It's nice to meet you!

  19. I can, unfortunately, attest to the fact that my laundry skills have deteriorated as well. No roommates to be bothered by the pile of laundry since it's both of ours. :)

  20. Very good advice. Not that leaving piles of laundry is advice per se...

One year is awesome. And also a drop in the bucket. Hold on to your seats because the ride is just getting started.
