Silver Lining: How to Ritz up a Ritz

How to Ritz up a Ritz

First, I'm not sure that ritzing something up is a real phrase. Blogger says no! with a red underline. But let's press on anyway, shall we?

Last week, we ended up with two large boxes of Ritz crackers in our grocery cart{in my defense, they were on sale?}. Then we realized we were supposed to bring an appetizer to a party. So we spread herb cream cheese on them and topped them with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. They were gone in a second at the party, and we even used our extra basil to make more for dinner the next day. Sooooo good {make sure you use the right tomatoes though}.

More must-try cracker topping combinations:

fried egg and bell pepper for brunch
mesquite turkey and swiss cheese for lunch
sharp white cheddar and jam for after school
artichoke dip for the evening
nutella, bananas and cinnamon for dessert

And perhaps our other favorite, ritz with cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberry slices on top. The salty bottom balances out the sweet frosting, and it's kind of to die for. {We won't disclose how many we had for dessert last night.}

*This post is not sponsored by Ritz crackers. It's just how we roll.

Do you have a favorite cracker topping combo?
Any other ones we need to try?

  2. Those sound delicious! Although my husband isn't a fan of basil in that form (weird, right?).

  3. Yummmm! I like them with caviar on top and alittle sauce. It's spendy but worth it!

  5. Hi Brooke,
    These look so pretty. I never thought about toppings on a Ritz Cracker, besides ham and cheese. We used to make tiny cups out of fried plantains and fill those.
