It's that time of year - classroom planning time. August 1 comes up on the calendar and automatically I start panicking. That is, I panicked until I realized I should just be in denial that summer's ending. So don't ask me how many days until school starts, because I refuse to say. It's warm out, and that means it's still summer. End of story.
Denial or not, I've been spending all week in my classroom for team collaboration. I moved around the corner to a new classroom this year, and I liked my old room, but holy moly, this room is YEARS newer. Instead of puke-colored carpet walls and one small window, I have brightly painted white and blue ones - not to mention three large windows and a walk-in storage closet. I feel like the Queen of England.

Here's a sneak peek of my classroom so far. I'll post more when I'm done (if I'm done? do teachers ever really get done with anything?).
I'm excited to meet my neweset batch of fifth graders!
I hear I have a super sweet and responsible batch coming up.
(Incidentally, how does my average non-teacher reader feel about teaching posts?
Boring? Irrelevant? Interesting?
