What we used:
- 1 bag pretzel rods, cut in half
- THIS caramel recipe from Everyday Home Cook (it was so good that we poured the extra into a pan and made bite-sized caramels)
- Candiquik milk chocolate and vanilla chocolate from Target
- crushed peppermint candy canes
- parchment paper
First, make the caramel according to directions. Then, quickly dip the caramel on the pretzel rods and spread on parchment paper. After a few minutes cooling, roll each pretzel stick between your palms so the caramel wraps evenly around the pretzel instead of pooling on the paper. Then, melt the chocolate and dip onto the caramel sticks. When it's cooled and set, drizzle the top with the other flavor of chocolate. Option: dip a few pretzels into vanilla chocolate only and sprinkle crushed candy canes on top. YUMMINESS ALL AROUND.
I would tell you how long they store for, but ours are almost gone already so I don't know :) Thanks Jessa for coming over and making these with me! I have a feeling it will be the first of many Christmas treats this season :)
PS I'm giving away $50 to Target. Enter the giveaway HERE if you haven't yet.
Mmm chocolate dipped pretzels are one of my favorites, but I haven't tried chocolate and caramel!
