It's official. My bump is actually bumpin' now. Last week I was asked by a stranger when I was due. I know that's supposed to be a taboo question to people with questionable bump sizes, but I had been feeling fat and bloaty and distinctly non-beautiful all day, so that question really turned my day around. Bless you, sweet old lady at Hobby Lobby. Then two more people asked the next day, and one of my husband's old mission buddies asked Sam at the gym last night (it was hilarious. He didn't want to imply anything in case he was wrong, so he kept beating around the bush. We let him go on for a little while, just to see him get more and more uncomfortable...).
Side note: all the lunch ladies at my school know I'm pregnant, and they're cute about it. I never talked to the lunch ladies last year, but now they tell me funny pregnancy anecdotes almost every day. Best of all, they scoop me extra food :) Food is kind of the quickest way to my heart these days. I'm always telling Sam exactly what I'm going to eat when I get home. In fact, sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, I check my phone so I know how many more hours until I get to eat breakfast ("yes, breakfast in three hours!").
PS a big thanks to Bonnie for taking these pictures! I love our little photo session last weekend, and I loved our long chat afterwards.
I was about 19 weeks when a stranger first congratulated me for my belly. I was so excited! No one says anything now though my belly is getting quite round!
ReplyDeleteHaha isn't it funny how that works? My friends say that people stop asking when you're due as you get closer. I guess they think that no super big pregnant mama wants to be reminded how many more weeks of uncomfortable-ness they have ahead of them!
Deletepeople are just barely asking me (some people i can tell want to ask, but are afraid to) and i'm 32 weeks! haha! i wish i had started showing earlier though. i barely started showing at like 24 weeks, so i feel like it's taking people long enough to say something ;) your bump is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny. I love your darling bump! Oh, and by the way, I took your advice and hit up that Old Navy maternity sale. Finally found pants that aren't super saggy! I owe you a million.
DeleteIt appears that according to my highly scientific test, you are pregnant. Congratulations.
