I dare you to not think of the Journey song when you read the title of this post.
Today marks halfway through my pregnancy. WHAT. Halfway! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that one. But still, since I'm halfway, and since I have so many awesome friends who keep asking, I thought I'd post some stats.
How far along: 20 weeks
Baby size: 10 inches long, 10.5 ounces
Weight gain: this week I finally made it back up to my pre-pregnancy weight (I lost 6 lbs in the first trimester). Trying to consciously embrace the fact that the numbers on that scale are going to keep going up, and that means I'm growing a healthy baby.
Maternity clothes: I have one lone pair of pre-pregnancy pants that still fit. Mostly I'm wearing maternity pants or skirts (leggings whenever I can get away with it!). Still wearing most of my loose shirts too.
Wedding ring: on. Would this be a relevant time to mention that Sam lost his wedding ring though? We can't find it anywhere. I suspect the couch.
Stretch marks: nope
Sleep: good. Happy I'm a side sleeper to begin with!
Gender: baby girl
Best moment this week: when Sam felt her move for the first time. After days of me grabbing his hand at the most inconvenient times, shoving it on my belly, and telling him to listen with your heart you will understaaaaand (Pocahontas. It's fine.), he finally felt her moving. And it was awesome.
Looking forward to: um. well I'm having a baby. An actual real live HUMAN BEING, which is currently GROWING INSIDE OF ME. So there's that.
Movement: yes and I love it! Also it tickles.
Food cravings: Pregnancy is turning me into a 5th grader. I love airheads, sprees, nerds, sour patch kids, and anything else that has processed sugar and artificial fruit flavoring. It's way way better than chocolate these days.
Aversions: Still no bread that's straight from the loaf (yuck!), and still no leftovers.
Belly button: in
Nursery: we have a cleared-out empty room, so that's something.
The rest of my life hasn't slowed down to make room for my pregnancy, but I just keep praying, prioritizing, and doing what I can and everything works out. These are good days, and we are happy.

ReplyDeleteJust found your blog. Love it! Don't you love how your body craves the funniest things? And I still can't handle leftovers and I'm three months postpartum. -Natashia from themumsyblog.com

I only have one pair of jeans that fit me still. Thankfully my slacks were big to begin with and I've just taken out the safety pins that used to hold them up.
ReplyDelete"Living on a Prayer" isn't by Journey... ;) and your bump is cute!
