Our sweet Claire was blessed in church today (for my non-Mormon readers, a baby blessing is like a christening ceremony). She got to wear the same dress I wore when I was blessed - a long vintage gown that my mother bought years ago in England. Despite my worries that we would get there late (we were 25 minutes early) or that she would spit up all over her dress (she didn't), or that I would give the wrong address to all my family members (I didn't), everything went fine. I finally relaxed right before it started, and I'm so glad I did, because her blessing was absolutely beautiful. It was sweet and wonderful and it just felt so great to be surrounded by people that love Claire. Even though Sam didn't bless her with superpowers like I told him to ("I bless you... with the ability... TO FLY!!" haha), I couldn't have imagined it going any better. She is one blessed girl.
