While we're sitting around in our jammies watching movies today, I wanted to share a few pictures from last weekend. We went to Chalk the Block, where local artists "purchase" a parking stall and unleash their creativity on it. There were Disney montages, recreations of famous works of art, and even a few creative ads for local businesses, all done in chalk.
This year my amazingly talented sister-in-law, Ellie, participated. Hers was the darling Frozen montage. It was a total hit, and you could hear little kids everywhere saying "Mom, let's go back to the Frozen one!"
I often wish I was an artist. My creativity came in the form of writing and music. I would love to be naturally creative as a dancer or as a visual artist, but alas. I guess I'll just have to stick to photographing the real artists :)
We ran into my family at Chalk the Block, and it was so fun seeing them. It's starting to sink in that we might not always get to live half an hour away from my family, and that's a very sad realization for me. (Because we live in a world of disclaimers: I realize Claire is not buckled into her stroller here. We had just barely set her in when we took this picture, and we buckled it before we started walking again.)
Did you go to Chalk the Block?
Which ones were your favorites?
And don't they look so cool?
