I can hardly believe it, but Provo has been my home for the past seven years (seven!). A LOT of memories have been made from when I was a bright-eyed, bushy tailed freshman moving into BYU housing with five strangers who would later become my best friends. Provo holds a big part of my heart!
Provo also represents a big part of my blogging photography over the past years. I've taken pictures in dozens of places around Provo. Here's a list of my favorite (and free!) photoshoot locations in the area.

Fields by Utah Lake
This is one of my all-time favorite locations for photoshoots, because the background is bright but neutral. Another plus is that it's beautiful at all times of the year. Finding it is the hardest part, but once you've found it, you'll love it! (Tweet or message me for detailed directions!)

BYU South Campus Stream
This location is great because it's beautiful, well-maintained during all times of the year, and it's new enough that it hasn't been overused yet. The South Campus Stream includes a gorgeous pathway, canal, and pretty landscaping. You can't be shy about posing with students constantly walking past you though! Go down the hill for some pond pictures.
Provo Center Street
There are a lot of beautiful locations in the blocks surrounding Center Street in Provo (especially west of University Ave). With a good mix of old-fashioned exposed brick and sleek, bright, modern buildings, there's a backdrop for every mood.
Bicentennial Park
This location has something for everyone! Green open fields, canopied wooden paths, and even a gorgeous pond and bridge. I've rarely been there and not seen someone getting their picture taken. It's one of my favorite locations!
Provo Canyon
This one is a no-brainer. Mountains are gorgeous at all times of the year, and the specific location options are practically endless. Fields! Streams! Waterfalls! Cliffs! Forests! We love Buffalo Peak and Vivian Park the most.
Provo library
This is a very popular location, and for good reason! The outside is flanked with brick walls and gorgeous stairwells and window wells. There's even a beautiful modern glass bridge on the inside that's fun to shoot in.
The Riverwoods
The Riverwoods is another location that has something for everyone! As long as you're willing to maneuver around shoppers, there are pretty bright-colored walls, splash pads and fountains in the summer, and even a giant gazebo in the center. There's a beautifully manicured stream to the east of the shops too.
BONUS
Also check out the pixelated Einstein wall and the Utah State Hospital orchards (the orchards are beyond gorgeous in the spring, but you have to pay to shoot there, which is why it didn't make the list.) I also know of a fun pink wall, but I didn't include it because the building just changed ownership and there's no telling how long it will remain pink!
Provo friends, what am I missing?

These are great ideas. I love the stream up at BYU. We have done photos there a few times. I'd love to try out Bicentennial Park. I'll have to look up where it is located.
